Well we had another summer kids 101 this past week and it was a blast. The kids out fished all of us and they were so happy. The oldest cousin was scared of the fish at first but he got use to holding them and the youngest was all into catching and holding the fish. We had a good catch that day and the boys had a lot of fun.

Our first Summer kids camp client came in and wow it was fun. It was a father and son trip and they both had a blast. We took them to the different habitats and we found crabs, sea snails, baby fish, stone crab and two species of shell fish. Oysters and Mussels. We fished a couple areas and caught Crocker and black drum and small red fish we kept a few to take home. We even surfed a few big ship waves on the way to the beach break then we fished our last spot and called it a day.
Well this month was all over the board from Great days of fishing to poor weather days. We have had a few return clients like the group from Indiana and the group from Louisiana. We even had our Louisiana Expo winner this month that was a lot of fun. Majority of the fishing trips were great fishing trips Pics in our Gallery.
Well This week has been nothing but rain and more rain. The water is fresh and mostly bait moving in to the bays. We had to cancel Saturdays trips due to the storms but Sunday we had two trip planed. The morning trip was slow and but we caught a lot of catfish and a few black drum nothing big just undersized and 15-17 inch drum. The afternoon trip was better we caught black drum, crocker, porkies, black drum and a couple reds. It was a fun trip and i hope to see these guys again soon.
Well this afternoon trip started a little late but we had a great time. It was a family of 5 headed by Mr. Erdberg.
His wife and there three Very funny girls couldn't wait to go fishing so off we went to our first spot. The water is still brackish so the fish are staying in deeper waters so we went to a spot that was deep and good current. We caught a few Rat Reds under sized and a couple nice stingrays and decided to go to another spot. We went up to a rock ledge and we caught a couple nice black drum and then the little girl latched on to a huge black drum and she was so excited and her arms were getting tired so i took over the fight and brought him in the rest of the way for her and they couldn't believe the size of it lol. Then his wife caught one as well and she brought him in and it was a nice size one as well. Well the trip was almost over and we hit another spot and we caught a few more drum some crocker and lots of crabs lol the girls thought they were so cute and i told them the story of the lost mermaid that got saved by the crabs. Great way to end the day and hope they will be back again soon. Caught 20+ Lost 0 Kept 6 Wow What a story to tell for today and its only half over. I had a party of 4 this morning of a group of guys I meet at the Louisiana Expo last month lead by Mr. Porter. They came in the day before and i showed them a good place to eat and then after I left them to go set up the boat. WELL next morning they arrive and we go out to a couple spot with little success. Caught a few and a really nice redfish but nothing great so I took them to my Hell Mary spot lol. Wow did we have fun!!! These guys were catching black drum the size of grouper lol. One took so much line that we had to drop anchor on a Float and chase after it lol. This fish was determine to give this guy a run for his money and drug us almost a Quarter MILE from where we started lol it was amazing but we got him!!! We caught a few other hugs ones and it was a great way to end that trip.
I did post the video so go check it out... These guys were very happy and cant wait to come again Caught 10+ Lost 0 Kept 5 So Today is our first Handicap client of the year!!! Mr. Colins and his squad of 2 came fishing today and boy what a story to tell.... I took them to a couple spot with very little results until i put them on one spot that is known for black drum and catfish just to kill the slow pace well when we got there we got on to the fish and kept catching every thing from cats to black drum, reds and crocker. Mr. Colins was the main fisher of men lol he would just lean on his arm and wait for a bit and then boom caught a fish hit after hit and we were like dang he just relaxing catching all the fish and were working harder and catching little rofl it was great. Then he caught a huge redfish and we got him up to the boat and as i reached for him with line in hand the red decided to make another run and the line snapped. Well come to find out my poles were filled with the wrong size line from academy guy who filled them but i restrung the poles on the boat and it was a good thing cause then he caught a huge black drum and yes we fought him for a good while and we had a blast. I cant wait to take them out again and as the summer draws near so does the better fishing areas. Thanks guys i never laughed so hard and had a great time.
Well today i took out a great fisherman by the name of Mr. Monreau and it was slow we caught a few fish but nothing spectacular. Water conditions wasn't in our favor high winds and freshwater and that day we finally got a little splash of water on us from a side wave in high winds.
Well the fishing has been a hit or miss but we are catching fish. The red fish have been large and black drum plentiful. the speckle trout have been scares due to the fresh water from the rains but still putting people on fish. The crocker are moving in and hitting hard and so are the catfish.
Hopefully next week will get better.... Today's fishing trip was one for the books... A group of four from Austin, Tx came down for a fishing trip and the weather was great for the most part of the afternoon with a strong in-tide. At the first spot we came to someone was in my favorite spot and sure enough they were catching black drum, red fish, and sheep head while we sat across the way getting a bite here and there and catching a few nice size drum. Once the fish stop biting thanks to the idiot who started his engine and moved backwards just to save his hook from being stuck and then made a circle then re-anchored in the same spot; we went to a spot where i knew we would have good results there. As soon as we stopped and cast one person caught a nice drum and one caught a little crocker and then the craziest thing happened. One guy tried to cast and hooked his partner right above the eyebrow and it was crazy. No one knew exactly what happen till we saw the hook in his face and we all were stunned!!! We rushed to the dredge boat to see the doctor and they didnt have one figure that one out so we rushed back to the house and we got in to my house and i sat him down. Luckily i knew general first aid and some EMS training so i took out the hook cleaned the wound and patched it up. After all the action and calmed down they headed home. They said they had a great time and cant wait to come again and hopefully no accidents lol. I'm glad they had a great time and I hated that we had to cut the trip short. Next time guys we'll make up the lost time.......
